Our approach

We built the place we wished existed.

More than twenty years of friendship, conversations, shared values, and one belief we kept coming back to: healing begins when people feel truly known. Not just seen. Not just heard. Not just helped. Known. Here’s our story.

Where Mosaic began

Two friends. One shared vision.

In 2005, the two of us—Kristin and Zachary—met at Project 99, working with children and families across New Jersey. We quickly realized we shared the same belief: that people deserve therapy that is creative, culturally responsive, and delivered with excellence—and that the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of meaningful change.

Over the years, our conversations kept returning to the same question: What does truly meaningful therapy require? Not a bigger practice. Not more technology between people. It takes genuine relationships—a place where clients and therapists both feel safe, supported, and valued, with the time and consistency that lasting change requires.

That vision became Mosaic. Not a platform. Not a directory. A practice built with intention. Every therapist on our team was chosen thoughtfully—not only for their clinical skill, but for their integrity, humility, compassion, collaboration, and commitment to seeing the whole person. They know how to listen deeply, build trust, and challenge clients with compassion as they work toward healing, growth, and lasting change.

Accessibility has always been part of that vision, not an afterthought. We offer in-person therapy in Springfield and virtual therapy throughout New Jersey, and we're in network with major New Jersey insurance plans because we believe quality mental health care should be as accessible as possible.

Why “Mosaic”

Made of pieces.

A mosaic is made of many individual pieces—different colors, textures, and shapes that come together to create something meaningful. Each piece matters. Together, they form a picture that could not exist without all of them.

That’s what we believe about people. Your experiences, your relationships, your culture, your challenges, and your hopes all shape who you are. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin therapy. Bring what you’re carrying, and together we’ll make space to understand it, heal from it, and discover the beauty in the story those pieces create.

Our mission

To help individuals and families heal, grow, and move toward their fullest potential through compassionate, culturally responsive therapy that honors each person’s story, relationships, identity, and lived experiences—including the ways culture, race, and systems shape mental health. We believe everyone deserves care that sees the whole person and creates a space where they feel seen, understood, and supported.

Our vision

To create a practice where meaningful relationships are at the center of healing—where clients feel safe, valued, and empowered, therapists are supported and inspired to do their best work, and lives are transformed through compassionate, culturally responsive care.

Who is welcome here

Mosaic is an LGBTQ+ allied and racial justice–allied practice. We welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and lived experiences. Whoever you are and whatever has shaped your story, you’ll be met with respect, compassion, and empathy.

What makes Mosaic different

A practice built around people.

Therapy is personal. That’s why Mosaic is built around real relationships—with therapists you can learn about, connect with, and choose based on who feels like the right fit for you.

Know who you’re working with

Every clinician here has a real name, a real face, and a real story. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about our therapists and choose the person you’ll work with—not be assigned to someone by an algorithm or a matching quiz.

Local roots, personal connection

We’re an actual practice in Springfield, NJ, with clinicians who live and work within New Jersey communities. We provide in-person therapy locally and telehealth throughout the state.

Specialized care, thoughtfully offered

Our therapists bring experience in areas such as trauma, children and adolescents, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, couples counseling, Christian counseling, substance use support, Spanish-language care, race and identity, and more. Each clinician brings their own expertise, perspective, and approach to the work.

Finding your person matters

The relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of meaningful therapy. We take the time to help you find a therapist who feels like the right fit—and the choice is always yours.

The people behind Mosaic
