I am a proud Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned a Master’s in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, as well as a Bachelor’s in Social Work from West Chester University in West Chester, PA. I have many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of life perspectives. I have worked in a variety of settings including early childhood, public schools, and have also provided therapy to families in their homes.
My areas of specialty include working with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, ADHD, and acting out behaviors, as well as those working on parenting and parent/child relationships. I am also passionate about working with those who are affected by trauma and complex family dynamics, but want to move forward and heal.
I operate from a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach for all of my clients. I understand that each client is unique and I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the specific needs and goals of each client. The modalities I use in treatment include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems, attachment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), creative arts, and play. Cultural competence is a cornerstone of my practice. I respect and value the diverse backgrounds and identities of my clients, understanding that cultural factors play a crucial role in shaping one's experiences and worldview. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is inclusive and affirming. I identify as a Christian, and if faith is a part of your wellness journey, I welcome incorporating it into our work together.
I believe that my clients are experts on themselves when they walk through my door. I acknowledge and honor the expertise you bring. My mission is to work with that intrinsic wisdom, guiding and empowering you on the transformative journey towards becoming the best version of yourself – the version you aspire to be.
I approach therapy with empathy, respect, and a commitment to creating a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. My therapeutic style is collaborative; to me, therapy is always a partnership based on trust and respect between therapist and client in order for meaningful work to be accomplished. Whether it's developing coping skills, exploring past experiences, or setting and achieving specific behavioral goals, I collaborate with clients to design interventions that align with their unique strengths and preferences.
I look forward to assisting you on your journey towards peace, strength, and power. Those small steps you take each time you commit to a therapy session will turn into the change you wish to see if you stay committed to the process!
A little about me: Being in community with others is my favorite place to be. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering on the executive board of my sorority, as well as the executive board for the National Association of Social Workers – NJ chapter. I also enjoy spending time with family, friends, and being near the water.
