“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ~Maya Angelou
I am a Licensed Social Worker who earned my Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. I have experience working with clients of diverse ethnicities, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds in various settings for over 20 years, including substance abuse facilities, criminal court, shelters, community mental health agencies, and private practice.
My areas of specialization and interest include working with adolescent and adult trauma survivors, particularly those who struggle with anxiety, depression, or addiction issues connected to these events, as well as working with loved ones of those struggling with addiction. Other areas of specialization includes couples therapy, as well as helping clients navigate life transitions and various forms of systemic oppression and abuse. As a Christian therapist, I am passionate about incorporating faith into therapy sessions for those clients who desire to do so. I enjoy facilitating both individual and group therapeutic sessions.
I believe in working in partnership with you, utilizing your strengths to help you identify and overcome your challenges and achieve your goals. For me, healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgment. When provided with the right supports and resources, everyone has the ability to thrive. Rather than adopting one therapeutic modality, I draw from various modalities to create a tailored approach for you and your unique situation.
As a therapist, I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist,
combining experience, education, creativity, spirituality, and a sense of humor. I understand that life is full of challenges that can cause physical, behavioral, and/or mood changes. I am here to assist you. Are you ready to take back your power? Find the power you possess? Let’s do it together. I will listen empathically and create a safe space for you to tell your story. I will help you find the courage and strength to claim and/or reclaim your power through a holistic therapeutic partnership.
A little bit about me: In my free time, I enjoy making memories with my children, friends, and family.
