As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am deeply passionate about guiding individuals toward growth and transformation. I bring extensive experience working with adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where clients can explore their experiences and develop the tools they need to heal and thrive.
Throughout my career, I have provided therapeutic services in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, residential facilities, schools, and in-home sessions. I integrate creative arts into my therapeutic approach and am certified in Sand Tray Therapy, a powerful tool that allows clients to express themselves non-verbally through projective play. This modality has proven to be especially helpful in creating a safe space for processing emotions and experiences.
In addition to Sand Tray Therapy, I utilize several evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs, including psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and Brainspotting. Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-body-based technique that helps individuals process trauma by accessing deep, often unconscious, parts of the brain. By focusing on specific eye positions, Brainspotting allows clients to target unresolved trauma and emotional pain. This method has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, depression, and other trauma-related conditions. I also integrate attachment theory to help individuals explore early life experiences that may be influencing their current relationships.
As a biracial woman who appears white, I understand the complexities of racial identity and the importance of cultural sensitivity in therapeutic practice. I am committed to providing culturally responsive care and creating space for clients to explore issues related to race and identity. I also strongly advocate for social justice and work to address the systemic racism and discrimination that can impact mental health.
The therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process, and I believe that trust, respect, and collaboration are the cornerstones of effective therapy. I work alongside you to create a personalized plan that supports your growth and helps you achieve your goals.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy spending time outdoors, walking my dog, going to the beach, reading, traveling, and connecting with family and friends. I am also committed to lifelong learning and am currently working toward fluency in Spanish.
