I am a licensed clinical social worker who prides herself on making sure that anyone who steps into my office space feels safe and that they can be their fully authentic selves. What I love most about being a therapist is seeing my clients enact change that leads to transformative results and empowerment. Most of my experience as a social worker has been helping children, teens, and adults navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and trauma, while also providing resources and guidance to parents. In addition, I have helped many navigate their reactions and fears related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While most of my experience has been in private practice settings, I have also worked in the non-profit sector and in families’ homes. I enjoy incorporating music, arts, and play into my sessions. I love seeing my clients use their passions and hobbies to increase their mental wellness and happiness. Other treatment modalities that I use include play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Providing culturally and spiritually sensitive services is paramount when receiving therapy. The best relationships between therapist and client are based on a mutual understanding and trust in each other. As a white, cisgender, Christian female, it is my responsibility to have the basic knowledge and understanding of other groups outside of my own. It is also my responsibility to create a safe and supportive space for you to process and share your story, no matter how different it may be from mine. I take a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based approach in order to create a personalized plan to assist you with achieving your short and long-term goals.
A little bit about me: I have known that I have wanted to be a therapist since I was 12 years old! I am very fortunate and blessed to have recognized my passion at such a young age. When I'm not working, you can find me at the beach, spending time with friends, playing one of my three instruments, singing, or making a new recipe I found online.
