I am a firm believer in owning your truth. Where you come from, how far you’ve come, and where you are going are all experiences that make you who you are. When we are faced with challenges we often “push through” trying to find immediate relief. The discomfort of challenging times often causes us to want to just “put it behind us”, ignoring or not realizing the impact it has left us with. I can help you navigate through and process how your various life experiences have shaped and influenced who you are.
Therapy is a valuable tool that allows you to gain new perspectives by providing a safe, judgment-free space for you to bring your authentic self, and to openly and freely explore whatever issues or concerns you are facing. You are the expert of your own life.
Therapy may seem intimidating for some people; for others, there may be stigma about participating in therapy from your family and/or culture. I am here to meet you where you are and embark on the therapeutic journey together. I consider therapy a form of self-care, an investment in you, an individualized time that is dedicated to your own process of self-reflection and growth. My priority is ensuring you get what you need out of the experience and I embrace a collaborative approach where we work together to establish goals you want to strive to attain.
I am passionate about empowering clients to tap into, explore, and embrace their truth and stories while ultimately being able to gain a positive and confident sense of self. My specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, and child/adolescent behavior issues including helping parents address these behaviors. My style is down-to-earth, warm, and compassionate. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy in treatment; I will tailor the treatment approach to best meet your individualized needs.
